Rosalind Whitehouse

Accreditation & credentials

Choosing a conservator is an act of trust. Accreditation exists so that trust can be checked: Rosalind's credentials are independently assessed and publicly listed on ICON's Conservation Register.

ICON Accredited Conservator-Restorer (ACR)

Rosalind is an Accredited Member of ICON, the Institute of Conservation, under the PACR scheme — the professional accreditation standard for conservation in the UK. Accreditation is assessed by peer review and maintained through continuing professional development, so it represents a current, verified standard of practice rather than a one-off qualification.

National Gallery training

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Fine Art, Rosalind trained at the National Gallery, London, on the Government Conservation and Restoration Training scheme.

Fellow of BAPCR

Rosalind has been awarded Fellowship of the British Association of Painting Conservator-Restorers, and has served on its Council.

Research and professional service

She presented the paper “From Munnings to Mondrian” — a study of the degradation of cadmium pigments, written with Dr Nicholas Eastaugh — at the 2001 ICOM-UKIC conference at the British Museum, has contributed articles and reviews to The Picture Restorer, and has served ICON on its Continuing Professional Development review panel.
