Collection and delivery
Careful collection of paintings from homes, dealers and auction houses across the Home Counties, treatment at the Frome studio, and safe delivery back — with owners kept informed at every stage.
Painting restoration in the Home Counties
For owners across the Home Counties, Rosalind Whitehouse offers museum-standard painting conservation without sending pictures to a London studio. She is an ICON-accredited conservator (ACR), National Gallery-trained and a Fellow of BAPCR.
Her background is Home Counties ground: trained at the National Gallery in London, after many years working for private and public collections and churches across East Anglia. Now based in Frome, she takes on small and medium-sized projects — single pictures, family portraits, church paintings and works from collections.
Covering Surrey, Kent, Sussex and beyond
Rosalind works with clients across most of the Home Counties — Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Sussex and Essex, as well as London. Paintings are treated at her Frome studio and returned to where they came from.
Getting a painting to a conservator is often the stumbling block. Collection and delivery can be organised for every project — pictures are collected from homes, dealers and auction houses, carefully packed and transported, and delivered back after treatment. Owners never need to carry a canvas themselves.
Services in the Home Counties
Cleaning and restoration
Tested, controlled removal of discoloured varnish and surface dirt, retouching of losses, and repair of tears, flaking paint and panels, using reversible materials throughout.
Advice and condition reports
Pre-purchase and pre-sale assessments for collectors and dealers, condition reports for insurers, and honest guidance on what treatment a painting does — and does not — need.
Discuss a painting in the Home Counties
Tell Rosalind about your painting — its condition, its history, or simply what worries you about it — and she will advise on the next step. Collection and delivery can be arranged, so your painting need not travel with you.
